Arcona 380 "Imperiet"winnaar overall Gotland Runt 2017

Korte informatie 11/7 2017
Congratulations to Paul Nord, owner of the Arcona 380 IMPERIET II for being the overall winner of the 350...-mile 2017 AF Offshore race, better known as the Round Gotland Race or Gotland Runt in Swedish. This year 241 boats started off of downtown Stockholm and threaded their way through hundreds of islands making up the Stockholm archipelago and then sailed south in the Baltic Sea to go around Gotland before heading to the finish of the Royal Swedish Yacht Club’s station on Sandhamn, an island on the eastern edge of the Stockholm archipelago. The leg south in the Baltic saw winds up to 26 knots with a nasty short, steep chop, which was forgotten on the run north to the finish. IMPERIET II finished the race in 52 hours and 34 minutes, which earned her first in the 76-boat SRS Class A, where she beat the second place boat, a Ben. First 40, by 27.5 minutes. Second overall when to the Estonian Cookson 50 FURIOSA, which sailed in SRS Big Boat class.

Nord’s stock Arcona 380 sailed with a full inventory of UK Sailmakers’ X-Drive sails. This was Nord’s first year with his boat, after trading up from an Arcona 340 that also had a full inventory of UK Sailmakers sails.
